Mike Onesko formed the Blindside Blues Band in the early 1990’s with bassist Greg Chaisson and drummer Jeff Martin formerly of Jake E. Lee’s “Badlands”. Their mission statement was to create harder-edged blues music in the tradition of late 60’s/ early 70’s blues-rock artists such as Cream, Mountain, and Robin Trower. After recording four critically-acclaimed CD’s with some personnel changes along the way, the group fulfilled their initial contract with Blues Bureau and recorded a series of records for the Akarma and Grooveyard labels, each known for their quality releases in the psychedelic and blues-rock genres. “Generator” marks the return of the Blindside Blues Band to the Blues Bureau label delivering a rockin’ new assortment of guitar-driven blues based numbers, heaped with incredible guitar playing influenced by their heroes.
In addition to returning members guitarist/vocalist Mike Onesko, bassist Kier Staeheli, and drummer Emery Ceo, renowned blues solo artist Jay Jesse Johnson also brings his stylized brand of blues guitar flash and expert slide playing to bear in a series of phenomenal guitar interactions with Onesko and company. This is retro blues-rock at its finest, characterized by great songs, a powerhouse band, commanding vocals, and searing solos.
